I am excited to be entering the educational field. I have always wanted to teach since I was a teenager. I was originally interested in teaching English however, I realized in my journey that I was almost exclusively reading biographies and all things historical.  I decided to take my CSETs in the Social Sciences and after much studying, I passed the first time. I have had the pleasure of teaching my own children who are entering into a new phase of their own; I am now pursuing the classroom career I have long desired.

I am passionate about History. It benefits society by teaching us the roots of society, enlightens us on reasons we have changed over time, gives us purpose, preserves the story of others, inspires us, teaches us valuable lessons and warning signs, and it makes us better people (Marcus, 2019).  Personally, the study of history has made me a well-rounded person, empathetic, and more culturally aware. Everyone can relate to history because everyone has one!

PERSONALITY TYPE:

My personality type is ESFP - Extrovert, Sensory, Feeling, Perception

My extrovert vs. introvert is almost balanced giving me an insight into people from both sides of the spectrum. I believe the personal connections I make with students, blended with an independent spirit, allows me the opportunity to motivate while appreciating the individual and unique growth of my students. I look forward to being an encourager and resource of information.
