III. TEACHING STYLE

TEACHING STRATEGY 7

CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

I would provide clear expectations for my students. Clear lesson goals assist with clarity and focus about what is important for students to know, understand, and be able to do (Killian, 2014). Clear expectations in the classroom provide secure learning environment, clears up misunderstandings, and provides strong social/emotional surroundings.

Teaching Strategy 8

THINK - PAIR - SHARE

I would use Think-Pair-Share or cooperative learning because it allows students to collaborate and offer support to one another. In this strategy, students think about the content, pair up and discuss, and share with their classmates. Teachers can use this strategy, listening to the conversation and note any misconceptions which can be addressed (Frey & Fisher, 2011).

 Teaching Strategy 9

PERSONALIZED LEARNING

I would include personalized learning which allows for student choice when I am able. When assigning projects, I would allow student choice. The standards would not change but students can choose the means to get to the same conclusion.

“We are encouraged by the trend of learning adapted to the pace, needs, goals, interests, and motivations of students rather than students constantly adapting to the average-oriented, one-size-fits all instruction” (Ferraro, et al.,, 2017, p. 83). This way of learning works well with all levels of learning therefore, offering inclusivity.
